Ben is a senior energy executive with nearly two decades at Shell, where he led strategy, transformation and energy transition efforts at the highest levels.
Highlights:
- Served as VP and General Manager for Strategy, Sustainability and Corporate Relations at Shell, with roles including VP Energy Transition Strategy, GM Transformation, and VP Integration and Effectiveness.
- Shaped corporate strategy to position oil and gas for leadership in the energy transition, working across the value chain and with trade associations to influence policy and set enabling business frameworks.
- Established and chaired Shell’s UK Commercial Managers Forum, driving the development of guidelines and best practices to strengthen commercial discipline and collaboration.
- Led major organisational change initiatives to align Shell’s structure and capabilities with long-term decarbonisation goals, embedding delivery through both governance and operating shifts.
- Previously GM and Country Commercial Lead for the UK and Ireland, and Asset Commercial Leader overseeing upstream portfolios and complex commercial negotiations.
Ben holds a 2.1 in Chemistry (Special Hons) from the University of Sheffield and an MBA with Distinction from Heriot-Watt University. He continues to advise boards and leadership teams on strategic risk, ESG and delivering net-zero commitments.
