Andrew Bartlett

Andrew is a senior energy, finance and board-level executive with over 40 years’ experience advising companies, investors and financial institutions on strategy, portfolio optimisation, capital raising, M&A, governance and value creation. He has worked extensively across Africa, the Middle East, Asia and the Mediterranean, bringing a unique combination of technical, commercial, financial and board-level expertise.

Highlights:

  • Currently serves as Senior Independent Director and Audit & Risk Committee Chair of Energean plc, a FTSE 250-listed Mediterranean gas producer, providing oversight of strategy, risk, governance and capital allocation.
  • Has served on the boards of multiple listed and private energy companies, including Meren Energy, Prime Oil & Gas, Impact Oil & Gas, Eland Oil & Gas and Azonto Energy, with extensive experience chairing Audit, Risk, Reserves and Remuneration Committees on the LSE, TSX and ASX exchanges.
  • Founded and led the oil & gas investment platform at the private equity house Helios Investment Partners, originating, evaluating and managing investments across Africa and supporting portfolio companies through growth, financing and exit transactions.
  • Former Global Head of Oil & Gas Project & Acquisition Finance and of Global Head M&A at Standard Chartered Bank, advising on complex financings, acquisitions, divestments and strategic transactions across upstream, midstream and LNG sectors.
  • Recognised for expertise in non-operated joint ventures, commercial negotiations, stakeholder management and portfolio optimisation, helping companies maximise value from complex assets and partnerships.
  • Has played a leading role in IPOs, debt and equity financings, corporate restructurings and asset transactions, working closely with boards, management teams, investors and lenders.
  • Prior to becoming a founding VP at Shell Capital, Andrew spent 18 years in Shell’s international upstream business in operations, reservoir engineering and asset management roles.

Andrew holds a BSc in Mathematics and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London.
