Max Peile

Senior Consultant

Max is an energy advisory professional with over 15 years’ experience supporting high-value investment and strategy decisions across oil and gas, new energies, and other capital-intensive sectors. He works with national and international energy companies, project developers, and financial institutions on complex multi-stakeholder decisions.

Previously, Max was a Senior Principal Consultant at io consulting, a Baker Hughes and McDermott joint venture, where he advised clients across upstream, midstream, power, and energy transition projects.

His recent major engagements include:

• Advising joint venture partners on late-life development and value maximisation strategy for a North Sea oil and gas asset.
• Leading the commercial structuring and tariff analysis of a European CO₂ transport and export infrastructure project for a regional CCS value chain.
• Delivering quantitative evaluation of alternative energy investment portfolios to support a Middle East country-level growth strategy for a supermajor oil company.
• Leading a year-long advisory engagement covering contracting strategy, vendor selection, and financing for a power station with carbon capture in Africa.
• Acting as economic lead for a Middle East national oil company’s long-term development plan, focused on life extension of an offshore super-complex.

He holds an MSc in Metals & Energy from Imperial College London and a BSc in Geology from the University of Bristol, and is both a GARP Energy Risk Professional (ERP) and a Certified Project Finance Analyst (CPFA).
