Selina Ashdown

Selina is a Senior Associate at StrategicFit. She has extensive strategic consulting and corporate communications experience, working across a range of industries including energy, environment, transport and construction.

Her experience has involved:

  • Leading the strategic evaluation of exploration opportunities in mid-Norway to enable a European utility to prioritise and agree a clear action plan.
  • Working on a number of country and area strategy development projects for energy companies in Norway.
  • Helping a client to evaluate a marginal field decision under time constraints and misaligned ownership. Brought an understanding of the value, drivers, potential timing and critical dependencies.
  • Providing a client with a clear market outlook of the pace of global deployment of concentrated solar power (CSP) and the development of emerging technologies.
  • Supporting an algae biofuel project to determine the optimal locations and partners that they should seek to work with to establish large-scale pond facilities for micro-algae biofuel production.
  • Leading teams of consultants on environmental issues-management and corporate reputation programmes for a number of global corporations. Clients included Nokia, Dow Chemical, Tetra Pak and British Airways World Cargo.
  • Providing strategic advisory services to board-level management, such as for a FTSE 100 oil & gas services company for over a year.
  • Delivering an influencer programme for one of the world’s leading chemical companies, building relationships between internal stakeholders, government representatives and NGOs.

Additional experience includes working for a patent attorney, assisting in the procedure of securing patent protection and drafting patent specifications.

Selina holds a MChem in Chemistry from Pembroke College, Oxford University, and her laboratory Masters project involved developing new organometallic polymerisation pre-catalysts.
